Downtown Atlanta’s entertainment landscape shifted dramatically Tuesday evening as Cosm Atlanta officially opened its doors inside the sprawling Centennial Yards development, delivering a 70,000-square-foot immersive venue unlike anything the city has seen before.

The facility’s centerpiece — a massive dome lined with more than 12,000 LED panels — is engineered to surround guests in what the company calls a “shared reality” experience. Rather than strapping on a headset, visitors sit beneath the curved screen and watch live sports, concerts and original programming that fills their entire field of vision.

A New Kind of Venue

Cosm executives say the Atlanta location is designed to blur the line between being at a live event and watching from a premium venue.

“We wanted to create a space where you feel the energy of a stadium without leaving downtown,” a Cosm spokesperson said during a media preview earlier this week. “The dome changes everything about how an audience connects with content.”

The venue also houses two additional spaces aimed at drawing visitors beyond showtime:

  • The Hall — a full-service sports bar with wall-to-wall screens, craft cocktails and a menu built around game-day fare.
  • The Deck — a rooftop lounge offering panoramic views of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, State Farm Arena and the downtown skyline.

Both spaces are open daily, independent of scheduled dome programming.

Centennial Yards Takes Shape

Cosm’s debut adds another major tenant to Centennial Yards, the $5 billion, 50-acre mixed-use project that is steadily transforming the long-dormant rail gulch south of Centennial Olympic Park.

The development, led by CIM Group, has attracted a roster of hospitality and lifestyle brands over the past year:

  • Hotel Phoenix — a boutique hotel targeting visitors drawn by major sporting events and conventions.
  • Virgin Hotels Atlanta — Richard Branson’s hospitality brand, bringing its signature “chambers” concept to the district.
  • Wild Leap Brewery — a LaGrange, Georgia-based craft brewery operating a taproom and production space on-site.
  • Steele Bridge — a 500-foot pedestrian bridge connecting Centennial Yards to the stadium district and surrounding neighborhoods.

Together, the projects are turning a stretch of land once dominated by parking lots and rail infrastructure into a walkable urban district with hotels, residences, retail and dining.

Timing and the World Cup

The venue’s opening arrives at a strategic moment for Atlanta. With the city preparing to host multiple FIFA World Cup 2026 matches at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Centennial Yards is positioning itself as a hub for the hundreds of thousands of international visitors expected this summer.

City officials have pointed to the development as evidence that downtown Atlanta is entering a new chapter of private investment.

“Projects like Centennial Yards don’t just add square footage — they reshape how people experience a city,” an Atlanta economic development spokesperson said.

What Visitors Should Know

Cosm Atlanta dome experiences require ticketed admission, with pricing varying by event. The Hall and The Deck are open to walk-in guests during regular operating hours.

The venue is accessible via MARTA and is located within walking distance of the Gulch transit station, Mercedes-Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena.

Additional details on programming and reservations are available on Cosm’s website.
