The Atlanta Hawks open the Las Vegas Summer League on Wednesday with a roster headlined by the team’s three rookies from the 2026 NBA Draft.
Here are three things to know:
1. Flemings, Ejiofor and Veesaar will get the keys.
Rookie point guard Kingston Flemings, the eighth overall pick out of Houston, will run the offense. Rookie forward Zuby Ejiofor, the 23rd pick out of St. John’s, will start at the four. Second-round pick Henri Veesaar will come off the bench at the five.
“We’re going to give them the ball and let them play,” Hawks Summer League head coach Brittney Ezike said. “This is their chance to show what they can do.”
2. The roster is mostly young and hungry.
The Hawks’ Summer League roster is heavy on two-way players and undrafted rookies fighting for a training camp invite. Veterans Trae Young, Jalen Johnson, and Dyson Daniels will not participate.
3. Five games in seven days.
The Hawks will play five games in Las Vegas, starting Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons. They will then face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday, the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, the Boston Celtics on Sunday, and a final game against a yet-to-be-determined opponent on Tuesday.
Atlanta’s Summer League play begins in Salt Lake City on Thursday, where the team will play two games against the Utah Jazz and San Antonio Spurs before traveling to Las Vegas.
The Hawks open the regular season October 21 at home against the Detroit Pistons.
