Buckhead Heritage will host a guided walking tour of four historic estates along Peachtree Road on Saturday, including two properties that are not usually open to the public.
The tour, which runs from 9 a.m. to noon, will cover roughly 1.5 miles of Peachtree Road between Pharr Road and West Paces Ferry Road. Stops include the L.P. Grant mansion, the F. Pharcellus Shaw house, the C. Howard Candler estate, and a fourth property that Buckhead Heritage is keeping under wraps until the day of the tour.
“This is a chance to see inside some of Buckhead’s most important homes and to learn the stories of the families who built them,” said Buckhead Heritage president Wright Mitchell. “We’re grateful to the homeowners for opening their doors.”
The tour is $35 for Buckhead Heritage members and $50 for non-members. Proceeds support the organization’s preservation work, including the ongoing renovation of the E. Rivers Lodge on Peachtree Creek.
The walk is rated moderate in difficulty; comfortable shoes and a water bottle are recommended. The tour will pause for a water break at the halfway point.

Buckhead Heritage is a nonprofit founded in 2002 to preserve the architectural and cultural history of the Buckhead community. The organization hosts quarterly walking tours, quarterly lectures, and an annual preservation awards ceremony.
