High Museum of Art — final weekend of Access-for-All Wednesday programming
1280 Peachtree St. NE, Midtown. The blockbuster Amy Sherald: American Sublime exhibition — the Sherald show featuring Michelle Obama’s official White House portrait — enters its final stretch this weekend. The High’s signature Wednesday “Access for All” free admission days have been drawing record crowds for the run; timed tickets for the final weekend’s programming are released in batches via high.org and have been going quickly.
Cinema in the Cemetery at Historic Oakland Cemetery — Saturday, gates at 7 p.m., film at 8:45 p.m.
248 Oakland Ave. SE. The Atlanta History Center’s signature outdoor film series returns to Oakland Cemetery with a screening under the stars. Bring a blanket and a picnic; gates open at 7 p.m. and the film rolls at sundown. Tickets and the featured title are listed at atlantahistorycenter.com.
BronzeLens Film Festival — opens Thursday, runs through Sunday
Downtown Atlanta venues. The annual BronzeLens Film Festival — focused on works by and about people of African descent — opens its multi-day run Thursday and runs through Sunday across downtown venues. The opening-night film and full schedule are at bronzelens.com.
Free outdoor movies across the metro — Friday and Saturday nights
Multiple locations. Several metro cities are hosting free outdoor movies as part of their summer programming — including “Frozen” at dusk Friday in downtown Woodstock, family-friendly programming at Chastain Park on Saturday, and a Saturday-night screening at Piedmont Park’s 12th Street gate lawn. Bring chairs or blankets and arrive early; food vendors typically set up at sunset.
Atlanta Braves post-All-Star coverage and All-Star merch pop-up — Friday and Saturday at The Battery Atlanta
Cobb County. The Braves return from the All-Star break this weekend, and The Battery is hosting a free watch-and-merch pop-up with giveaways and family programming on the plaza Friday and Saturday. The event is free to attend and runs through the afternoon; the full schedule is at batteryatlanta.com.
