Looking for something to do this Independence Day weekend? Here are three events worth checking out:
Peachtree Road Race — Saturday, 7:30 a.m.
The 57th running of the world’s largest 10K returns Saturday morning with a record 60,000 registered runners. The race starts at Peachtree and Lenox roads and finishes at Piedmont Park. Spectators are welcome along the route. MARTA is offering extra rail service to the Lenox station.
Flicks on the Bricks — Friday, 6 p.m.
Duluth Town Green, 3167 Main St., Duluth. The free outdoor movie series continues with “The Greatest Showman” (PG). Bring a blanket or low-back chair. Concessions available on site; outside food and drink welcome.
High Street Atlanta Screenings on the Green — Thursday, 7 p.m.
101 High St., Atlanta. The free outdoor series at High Street Atlanta continues with “Shrek 2” (PG). Lawn chairs and blankets recommended.
Friday Jazz at the High Museum — Friday, 6 p.m.
The High Museum of Art’s summer jazz series continues with a night of live music, gallery access, and cocktails in Midtown. Tickets are $25 for non-members.
Summer Fridays at Buckhead Village — Friday, 5 p.m.
Live music, drink specials, and extended evening shopping throughout the Buckhead Village district. The series runs every Friday through July 31.
Peachtree Junior — Saturday, 8 a.m.
A series of kids’ races for ages 7 to 13 kicks off Saturday morning at Piedmont Park. Registration is closed for the 2026 race.
Independence Day fireworks — Saturday night
The city of Atlanta’s official fireworks show begins at 9:45 p.m. at Centennial Olympic Park. The Lenox Square show begins at 9:30 p.m. Both are free.
