ATLANTA — Tuesday stacks one free NFL look, a classic community public-safety night, and a wetter afternoon pattern than Monday.
Falcons AT&T Training Camp — 1:55 p.m., Flowery Branch
The club’s official camp schedule lists Tuesday, Aug. 4, at IBM Performance Field with a 1:55 p.m. start — the week’s afternoon session after Monday’s 9:15 a.m. practice. Free tickets are still required; the team caps claims and notes that practices can move indoors (and close to the public) for weather or extreme heat. Gates generally open an hour early. Bring a refillable bottle, sun protection, and a bag under the published size limit. Autograph access, when available, is limited and happens along the fan hill after practice per the team FAQ.
National Night Out — Douglasville, 5–8 p.m.
Access Atlanta’s free-August roundup flags Douglasville’s National Night Out from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Lowe’s on Douglas Boulevard. The AJC blurb describes a family-oriented public-safety gathering with food, giveaways, kids’ activities, music, and touch-a-truck style access to local responders. It is one of the easier no-ticket community nights on this week’s calendar if you are west of the Perimeter.
Other free or low-friction picks still live this week
From the same AJC Access Atlanta free-August list (published late July, still the working August menu):
- Piedmont Park Green Market — Saturdays 9 a.m.–1 p.m. through December for produce and makers.
- Movies on the Square: “The Incredibles” — Thursday, Aug. 6, 7–9 p.m. at Colony Square (no outside food/drink; nearby options available).
- Lilburn Farmers Market — Friday, Aug. 7, 4–7 p.m.
- “Craft of Paper” exhibit reception — Friday, Aug. 7, 4–7 p.m. at Georgia Tech’s Robert C. Williams Museum of Papermaking.
- BeltLine Housing Fair — Saturday, Aug. 8, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. at Monday Night Garage (called out on prior BeltLine and week-ahead calendars).
Weather overlay
NWS Peachtree City’s Monday discussion and FOX 5’s school-week briefing both pointed to higher shower and thunderstorm coverage Tuesday than Monday, with heavy rain and lightning the main hazards rather than a widespread severe outbreak. Build outdoor plans with a covered backup, especially for late-afternoon camp departure traffic back to the Perimeter.
